So I'm curious - would you fly on an airplane where the mechanic ignored the manufacturer's torque specs when installing the engines to their mounts? I'm always baffled by people assuming they know more than Toyota about how tight their lugs should be with OEM studs.
^ +1 I have to say that from experience I know that if you torque past manufacturer specs you're looking at getting vibrations of sorts when driving. The tire shop I go to bases their torque on a GS / LS for Lexus witch is higher than the IS I believe. So I took off my wheels to clean and put them back on and the previous vibrations dissapeared. Over tightening your wheels isn't a good thing.
