Will I save considerably on labor if I change out ball joints when I replace shocks and coils? I plan to have mechanic do later this week and need to decide whether to do ball joints now or wait; mileage is 107K.
Maybe he'll give you a discount for doing everything at once, but you don't need to touch the balljoint for a shock/spring install. It's normally 1 hour of labor.
Definitely. The savings might be as dramatic as you would think but you will save some money. I would ask him how much he would charge to do the ball joints first. Then ask how much it would cost to do it together.
