Default lowering springs????

Just bought a 2006 gs300... wanting to lower it a bit. I've found several different manufacturers and sizes... how much is too much to drop these? I'm seeing springs that will lower the car anywhere from just under an inch to a full 2 inches.
Do i want Eibach or Tanabe? Or a different brand?
Any details I should know about install or potential problems??

Also, I've got the OEM 17" rims on it and was wanting to get some OEM 18" rims...

Ber VERY careful with the sensors on those wheel. It is a thin wires inside them that will break VERY easily if handle inappropriate. Don't ever hang them down by itself or you will pay the price. I am sure the CL's member will say the samething about those senors. Good luck.
