Default Front clunking noise Gs400

2000 Gs400 with 140k.Ok so I've searched all over about this noise. I replaced my front struts last month. Have also replaced the BJ's recently. Right after the strut install I get this clunking noise from the driverside. When I replaced the struts the factory built in "bumpstop" that is inside the dust boot was deteriorated. But it was a saturday and the part store didn't have anything in stock and I had to get to work monday morning, so I just slapped it all back together.

Question is replacing this bumpstop/dust boot thing gonna stop the noise?
Because I wasn't getting the noise before I removed the old struts.
Also has anyone bought these KYB strut boots and solved any noise issues?
http://www.carpartsdiscount.com/auto...ml?3593=122719
Or should I spend the extra $$ at sewell on OEM?
I read several threads about strut mounts, but mine were fine, just not the "bumpstops"
Thanks for any info

I just finished mine tonight, upper control arms, caster arms, steering rack bushing, and Tein High Tech spring. I got no more clucking noise. Also, I changed all four struts to KYB G2. If you changed the lower ball joints, then do the caster arms too. I changed my ball joints along with outer tie rods a few months back before I got all these done today. No more vibrating at 60 or 100mph. All I need is the aligment tomorrow. Try to get a new strut bumpers, if you need KYB G2. It is recommended on this vehicle. If I were you, I would start with new strut bumpers, new KYB G2, lower ball joints, and caster arms. Those parts are not really expensive like the upper control arms, and take it from there to see if you still have a clucking noise. Good luck. Shoot me a lines if you need help. Good luck.

I think I'll start with the strut bumpers this weekend. I have already replaced the lower ball joints. Does daizen make a caster arm bushing? I was planning on ordering their steering rack and swaybar kit soon too
Red bully- why are you replacing your upper control arms? I mean how can they go bad, besides the bushings themselves?

The upper control arms have ball joints built in to them, over time they wear out i have 106k on my car now. and you dont want them to fail when your doing 60mph

I've seen the SPC UCA. How is their long term durability? As good as the factory Toyota part? I know its a performance replacement, but that doesn't nec. mean it will last longer.

Thanks
