Exclamation GS300 Sway

Hello CL....I've been checkin out this site for a while and have found alot of useful things, and finally decided to create an acct

I was wondering if anyone was having this problem I am having or know how it may be fixed....
I have a 2000 GS300, wit 31k miles. When I drive on the highway, say round 70-80mph, my GS wants to act like a leaf in the wind....sometimes feels a bit unsafe, but never loses control. I was thinking maybe I needed to put buy an upper sway bar, and maybe replace the lower factory one, thinking mayb parts are worn a bit.

Any suggestions?

If it's your sways do not only replace one. If it's a floaty feeling, that is the "luxury" aspect of the car. I would go into a service center and check out all your suspension parts. Tie rods, ball joints, etc.

After replacing my OEM shocks to KYBs, the floating stopped. The OEM shocks are too soft so they tend to rebound to much. On the other hand, KYBs are a tad stiffer which gives comfort and handling. Hope that helps.

I dont think it's just the luxury feel....it sways side to side, as oppose to just a smooth ride. It sometimes feels like I just might lose control, and if thats the luxury feel, then I dont like it lol....
But I was thinking mayb the suspension is going bad, or I just need sways

If your suspension is going bad after 31k miles you need to stop 4wheelin with it lol. Check ball joints they are notoriously bad on this car.

lol...well I dont 4wheel, drag race, or anything like that. Used to with my IS tho. but even tho it has 31k miles, it is still a 9 year old car, so mayb deteriorated, but i dont see any signs of it. I was thinking its jus something I cant see....
