Default Rmm Stb

Opinions on the fit, finish, and performance on the RMM STB? Does it fit on a GS400 without removing the engine cover? What is the material of construction and is it polished or chromed.

I saw an old one a while back - didn't look that impressive, certainly compared to the TRD one. Yes it fits on GS400 without removing cover (they all do, it's the GS300 and GS430 that have problems).

What do you mean by "old" RMM STB?

Have they made improvements or upgrades...I might be looking for one.

Thanx.

The one I saw was old (as in, not brand new) - not sure if it's been updated. I didn't like the way the main bar is attached to the strut tower mount with a bolt. The TRD one is a solid welded piece and looks MUCH sturdier.

Here's the RMM one:

Bitkahuna,

That pic you got there with the TRD mounted on a GS4. It looks as if they were mounted w/o spacers and fit perfectly on a GS4 which is great. However, on a GS3 w/o engine cover, will the TRD still fit? I've heard conflicting some claims that you need spacers on a TRD if you have an engine cover but if you don't have an engine cover, you don't. Others claim you still need spacers on a coverless GF3 to clear the throttle body.

I'm so confused. Nonetheless, nice pic.

I thought the RMM was polished?

It is on the website.

Thanx for the pics.

On a GS400??? You're the only person I've heard of who couldn't keep the cover on. I don't get it. Mine HAS the spacers and is still close to the engine cover, so maybe you need the spacers back on.

I don't think the TRD one fits a GS300 in any configuration. Also, the pic of it on my GS400 is WITH spacers.

I did have my with engine cover on for a while.. but it was rubbing the cover.. in two places.. so I decide to take it off. Plus, I did not want to user the spacer. If I did, I want be able to adjust my damper... right now they stick out a bit.. I could use my finger to adjust them. Otherwise, I will have to remove stb everytime I want to adjust them. I will post a pic soon.

Picture was taken ages ago, my engine bay is much cleaner now. I know yours is surgically clean.

Default Strut tower bars for GS300

not sure about the TRD STB, but the Tom's bar will fit a GS300 but it needs like 2 or 3 spacers. not bad considering the other way is not STB at all
