hey rockalex, did you compress the pistons when you reinstalled the pads? That'll cause the issue.

Compressing the piston only helps get the pads and caliper on, once installed if the rotors are dragging after driving you still have issues.

Rock A Lex, I'm 99.99% sure I found your problem. After I installed new LS400 Rotors, pads and Calipers I was having the same issue, yesterday I removed the caliper and spun the rotor by hand, I noticed a wobble, my father in law told me all new rotors should be turned before installing as they almost always have a wobble and will rub the pads, well today I pulled the rotors and took then down to big 10 tires, they confirmed my father in laws suggestion, they were telling me how customers always complain about the $80.00+ charge they get for turning new rotors, I got them turned and just installed them 10 min ago... PERFECT! no more rubbing and when I spin them they're straight as an arrow. One thing, I have slotted and drilled rotors, the 1st shop I went to, Tire Kingdom wouldn't turn them, he said the slotted rotors will damage his cutting bit, but Big 10 had no issues. Good Luck.

Thanks Adam, I was actually afraid of this because I don't know of any shops around me that would turn x-drilled/slotted rotors. I have checked before as my old rotors were fine just needed a cut/turn. When I realized I couldn't get them done I just bought new ones.

When I get my car back from the bodyshop either Tues or Wednesday I will look into some of the items discussed in this thread.

Check around, my rotors are slotted and drilled too, the guy I used had no issues cutting them. Worse case you can mail them to him. You just need to find a shop willing to do it, the 1st guy I asked said they would mess up his bit, I'm not sure if thats the case as big 10 didn't have an issue and they just had a normal machine. Pull the calipers and spin the rotor by hand, and watch it by looking at the front part of the rotor, it should rotate with no wobble, if there is a wobble they need to be cut.

FIXED!!!!!!!!! Completely sound free like a damn Library now! lol. I re-adjusted the parking brake (which was adding to the drag) but the main reason was I noticed a 4" section area worn from the INSIDE of my rotor...but NOT on the braking surface! It was NOT the dust shield it was actually another type of shield that goes around the hub and waaaaaayyyyyy on the bottom (underneath) I saw where it has been rubbing and looked on the insude of the rotor and sure as anything that's where it was rubbing. Since I didn't have a grinder I simpy used a small 2X4 block of wood and hammered it back ever so slightly. The car rides MINT now! It was like this on both sides...rears only! It's funny because I searched the hell out of CL and there was a member a while ago that apparently was going through the same thing that I was and it was the exact same issue with the same remedy.

I wish I could BROADCAST this to everyone that newly replaces brakes and gets this rubbing. I don't know how this happened but in time; maybe 2-3K miles it would wear through enough that you wouldn't hear the squeeling anymore but I couldn't wait for that. Thanks for all your input guys!!!
