Anyone has reccomendations on caliper paint.... i've tried to paint mine and... it loooks... awful... because some of the brush actually got stuck in the paint.. and yeah... at the end of day.. the whole brush came off... sshould i actually strip the paint and then repaint using another brush or what?

 

Definitely strip the paint to get rid of the brush that got stuck....and buy a better quality brush at an Art Store.

 

Maybe I mis-understood but you used a brush? Use a spray can.

G2 would be the best DIY caliper paint kit. The paint is actually epoxy, which is very durable and the color won't fade. The kit comes with a brush and but you can spray it on as well. The paint will "self level" after the second coat.

I would recommend sanding off the old paint. You don't need to sand all of it of, just enough to take away the shine and rough up the surface.

I have never put clear coat and IMO the brush on is better. The brush that comes with those kits "sucks" so get a good 1" or 1.5" brush. Dont be cheap and it will look good. The brush on kits will last much longer then the paint on and you dont need to put clear coat over it

 

so i use the 150 grit and paint striper to strip the paint... then get an extra brush from other place... to paint them eh?

After watching a buddy do his with brush i decided to do mine with Spray. After putting a clear coat i thought it looked as glossy. Overall it was easier and looked smoother than a a brush. You can buy the Dupli-color spray can of any color along with a high temp gloss at any auto zone store. Just remember to prep right. I used 3 cans of brake cleaner, a steel brush then finished with the grade 3 steel wool. if you are putting on decals especially on a 350 calipers just make sure the front calipers smooth face is cleaned (steel wooled), several light coats of paint and clear coar and enough time to dry. Good luck.

 

Brushed on paint is self leveling and IMO more durable. I suggest a clear coat over decals. Great easy mod.

If you already got the paint just get a better brush
