TSIB Front Brake
It was posted a while back that the from-the-factory brake pads for 09s had been changed to the TSIB pads a couple months into the production run... so only early built 09s should even have the issue.
Another success story.
Took my 07 is250 into the dealer with nearly 27000 miles, over 2 years of ownership. They switched out the pads with no problems. I just made sure to go in with black brake dust covered front wheels. No questions asked.

I took mine in for my 10k service and my service manager told me that they could put the dust free pads on at no charge because it is covered under my warranty. So I did so. This was last Wednesday (5/13). My front rims look nice and clean still.
However, I have noticed a major difference in the amount of force I have to press down on the brake pedal to brake. It is significantly much more. I can brake in the same way as before, but I'm just not at fan on stomping on the brake pedal. I'm considering in switching to the old ones, which will unfortunately cost me out of pocket. Can't win it all, I suppose.
BTW, the dealership was Burdick Lexus in Syracuse NY. I like them a lot but I JUST moved to Poughkeepsie NY. Greenwich, CT, Mt. Kisco, NY, and Prestige Lexus, NJ are near me, anyone have suggestions on which is the best?

Whereas I found the less grabby low-dust pads a huge improvement... braking is far more linear and predictable rather than the original pads which were more like tap the brakes and you're going through the windshield if you didn't buckle up...
As you note of course the actual stopping ability is identical, it's just a feel thing.
Dealers denying it never made any sense at all to me... for one the TSIB states anytime during the 50k warranty period... for another, no matter how new or worn the dusty pads are, they're going in the trash after they take em off.
I know I've heard the occasional dealer refuse, but never understood how they're able to. (mine were done at my 10k service with no issues, but I'm sure I had a decent bit of pad left anyway)

I am in Houston, so I have access to 4 different dealers. Maybe that adds some persuasion when I bring up TSIBs and such.

I'm going to give them another week or so and see how much I like them then. I do have to break (pun intended) them in still and maybe I'll get used to them. I get into a groove of how things are and I like to stay there...so I'm change resistant.
I have an 08 is250 with 10k, just got of the phone with lexus and they said, yes they will do it for free depending on how much pads you have left. Also, they said that the low dust brake pads they are replacing with will be a lower performance pad, but it will have less dust and also last longer.

The replacement pads will provide -exactly- the same stopping distance as the high-dust pads do. Changing your pads doesn't change your stopping distance.
You might not want to use them at a racetrack, but I doubt that's relevant to 99% of owners.
I had 36K on my 06 IS and told my dealer about the TSIB...which they were already aware of. Told them I was tired of the excessive brake dust on my wheels and they replaced them for free. The dust was very annoying and now with the new pads I don't have to clean my wheels as often.
