Brake life on these cars is unreal!
The Lexus is up to 96K now.
All original rotors, original rear pads, 60k into the 2nd set of fronts.
Last week I started to hear some squeal when stopping. Its a city commute for me, so you can never tell for sure where it is coming from but it sounded like the back. I got parts and tore everything apart today. Upon inspection I still have 70%+ left of everything - all pads, all rotors, etc. No more squealing - must have been a rock or something.
It is days like today that remind me how much I love this car. 96K and not one wrong foot so far. Easy to work on. Comfy.
Anybody else having similarly good brake life?

That is actually pretty good. I bought my car 2nd hand, but I do know my car has aftermarket pads right now which is in need of replacement real soon. Probably got about 3mm left. Car has 110 miles so it would be safe to guess the original pads probably lasted 50-60K miles. My 04 RX330 also lasted to about 60K before needing replacement.

It all depends the type of driving you do. If you're mainly highway driving....90K on original rear pads make sense. Plus, if you downshift....vs....slamming on the brakes...that helps extend the pads.
If you're mostly driving on street traffic or stop & go on the freeway...then you'll probably get about 40K-50K on the original pads.

My front caliper's seized... probably due to the brake pads have lasted too long so the caliper pistons stayed at a "low" level for a long time.. at least that's what I think could've been...

or when your engine's colder then the first block at the temp gauge, it won't let you down to 2nd also... unless you put the lever to 2nd or 1st before you go to the normal speed to change to 3rd...
