Default My Coilover Debates

Okay guys Im been searching and scrounging around for the most info I can on which coilovers to get for my 2GS.

Its that time for me to switch up from spring setup to coilovers.

HKS we all know thats the best infamous setup to go for our 2GS BUT... There's nobody here that can get a hand on a set because supposedly they've stopped selling them or its been discontinued right???

What's left ? Whats my other HKS near experience options?

Im down left at either Stance GR+ coilovers, to ..... *ah ahem* Megans

Care to help me here Im dieing to get a nice lowered look and as close as stock ride but it doesnt have to me a cloud ride.. a little stiff is okay just not too stiff like where my head jarrs around like I just came off of Batman the Ride at six flags.

All help and info is sooo much appreciated!

they have been discontinued BUT u still should be able to find companies that have them. try google. JIC is a another good company, toms is also those are my 3 choices.....besides MY ABSOLUTE fav....OHLINS but u better be prepared to drop some $$$$ as they normally a custom unit with external reservoirs and custom tuned to your needs. they just nice man!

Okay so I googled some hks there ranging around 15xx.xx for the LS. Is that price about right?
Also how at the BC coilovers? Anybody know they seem to go for a good price range.

It really depends what you're looking for. If you want to slam the car, JIC, HKS, will do the job nicely. If you want to do it a little cheaper, Stance and Megan will work. If you're not going to lower it that much, Tein CS is very comfortable. If you want extreme adjustability, I would go for the Air Force Hybrid coilovers. They have custom spring rates so you can order them softer and they will slam the car. Not only that, but you can raise the car for speedbumps and dips too.

i have Insurance Group. they can slam the car and also have a nice smooth ride, with damper to full soft theyre softer than stock, and with it full hard theyre almost solid. and then you mix and match in between. i'm on 19s with 35 series tyres too (though i bought the car stock and put the coilovers in initialy with stock wheels)

Yeah this is what I was pretty much looking at most right under HKS because I'm going to be on a budget.

The first thing that you want to ask yourself when choosing coilovers is what is the purpose of your use. Is it for looks or for performance. The biggest problem that I see people do is slam their car and expect it to handle like it's on rails. That's incorrect because when you lower the car beyond it's drop point, the roll center is knock out of balance which can be very very dangerous among other factor.

I just put my stance coilovers in and I love them!! I also had hks rs and they were good, but stance will go way lower and rides better.. They also appear to be built better.

I would go with stance..

I got mine for 1200 shipped .. Pm me and I'll let you know where.
