Default Scratch on Rotor

Hey everyone,
hope you're all doing good

Well I just finished washing the car, I'm in the process of clay barring, I started to look around the car just to get a view at all the work I got ahead of me and I noticed that my passenger side front rotor has a line scratch that I can feel with my nail, it's just one line about 4cm off the edge of the rotor, I'm thinking it could have been a rock or something, but anyways any insight on this? Is this normal to happen to a rotor? Will it affect my breaking at all? And should I have this looked into by the dealership, I have 15k on the car. Brake pads were at 80% last time I went for an oil change.

Hmm

It's common with the stock pads. I am assuming you are not using the TSIB pads. Do a search and you will find a ton of threads. Search for groove or something like that.

Hm I figured that, I'm beginning to wonder if at all the groove causes the squeaks, either I hadn't seen it before or I over saw it. I was going to do a quick search but I was online on my cell so I tried to post as fast as I could.

Thanks VikH, I'm waiting to switch to the TSIB pads as soon as I put another couple of k's on these
