Lower: coil over or spring?
springs are the cheep route but coils will look better and being adjustable you can suit it to your driving habits. most guys buy springs then end up buying coils after so IMO, skip the spring step and go straight to coils.... you'll just end up buying coils later anyway
I agree 100% with llamaboiz! Coilovers can be adjusted to exactly how low you want your car to be (and a perfect even drop eliminating our notorious lean to the drivers side), and the coilover dampers are adjustable as well. I debated for quite a while before deciding that coilovers were by far the best choice!

If you can afford it, get coils.

depends on your budget. coils will give you much better handling and a great look. you will however need to rebuild them in due time. a spring/strut combo will not perform as well on corners and you will not be able to control the height of your set up. the spring/strut combo will often last longer and may be somewhat cheaper to purchase. its really a matter of your needs and budget.....

Alright, you need to understand that coils will not give you better performance unless you track your car on a regular basis. The only advantage you're getting with coils is for aesthetic. Coils will NOT last longer than spring shock combo. You'll need to have them serviced after 20 to 30k miles. I used to have Tein CS and I've been through that. It normally costs around $150 to $200 depending on what needs to be replaced on each coil. Just because your car is slammed doesn't mean it'll handle better. So if you can afford it, then go with coils. If you are expecting more longevity, then get the springs.
