Coil overs INSTALLED!
To skip ranting and etc. just scroll all th e way down
I finally got my coil-overs installed.. I just came on this forum a couple months ago when I got my SC.. The stock suspension was getting bouncy + I just hated the gap..
I was going to go with Sustec PRO 5's, but I have a couple friends that have them on different cars, and the tubing is huge compared to stock and other brands. Ohlin's vs SUSTEC PRO 5's, the SUSTEC's were thicker, but no matter how much bigger it is, it can't beat Ohlin's.
Anyway I went with TEIN Comfort Sport.. I was tierd of driving a bouncy, rough car that I'd hit my head in. These spring rates are 10/6, which I think is funny.. On my AE86 I run GReddy coilovers, and on stiffest setting for track use, I hit my head twice on the roof while on the freeway going 80. Anyways on to the SC, I have it slammed, as low as it could go, on 16'' stock rims. The car feels is smoother than my stock suspension, and is really forgiving over bumps..
I heard good and bad things about TEIN, I just hate S-tech people with their TEIN sticker on their quarter panel window.
Probably on a softer adjustment, the car is slammed to the floor with a 1 1/2 finger gap on 16's, and it rides like a new Lexus! I love these, and they made the car look awesome.. I kinda thought about what would happen if I went Espelir + tokico though, or even the Supra version, or even the Megan's.. It drops probably about the same and is most likely the same or softer spring rate. And for the Megan's, it's cheap and you could slam it as well and run a soft setting, non rebuildable from what I heard though, but it will cost the same probably anyways to get it revalved from a company with a higher reputation. I don't know about them, but I think they're an honest company that makes afordable, decent parts.. Through a wholesale they're dirt cheap, whereas at retail they're still dirt cheap, so I don't hate on them, that much..
Sorry I like ranting, I think I'm going to start a blog after this, but anyway it was worth it and I'm amazed with the ride. CS isn't just a marketing scheme, it is comfortable, lets you ride height adjust it, and you can still set the stiffness! I recommend them!

Great looking stance! Welcome to the club! Thanks for the opinion on the Comfort Sports too. If you want to get that dent pulled call up Jeff Wright @ 714-960-3143. He is the best! Tell him you are a Club Lexus member and that David referred you with the black SC400 he did in Irvine and he should charge you about $30.00 per panel! He is extremely maticulous and is very professional. Remind him that I am the one Cerritos Lexus paid him to take every ding out. He will remember. He spent most of the day working on my ride and he did a great job!
