Replacing Brakes IS250
I am new on here and need some help. I apologize if this question has already been asked. I called the Lexus dealer today and told them that my brakes have begone to squeal at 9,100 miles. Over the phone the guy said that I will need to replace the brakes and the rotars at $610 plus tax. He said Lexus said you can't turn or resurface the rotars, that they have to be replaced.
Is this correct, that ever time that my brake pads start to squeal, I will need to replace my rotars on the IS250 2006??? On all my other cars I have been able to replace the brake pads alone.
Another question the front brake pads at Lexus cost $128 dollars $60 (rear) alone, can I buy the same brake pads cheaper some place else?

Do a quick search for TSIB there are two for the 2IS one for excess dust and one for squeeky brakes. I hope you have not worn the pads down too much so you can get the TSIB done. Good luck
beat me to it tshek. lol
beat me to it tshek. lol
I believe they can resurface the rotors because the dealer that i went for the TSIB did resurface my front rotors. I did mine at steven creek and they still approve me for the TSIB even though my car already has 25000 miles on it and the front brake pads are left with only 4mm...The best thing is, everything is for free...
Thank you everyone. Just had a friend call their service rep, and they said its covered Free of charge. I feel like the other dealership was trying to scam me. I guess you can't trust them all.

I just wanted to update everyone. Brought the car into Lexus this morning told them about the noise, had no problems. They changed the breaks and it was all covered under the warranty.
tshek, thanks a lot for the generou TSIB info that you posted for doggie bus. I have about 11,000 miles on my IS250 and I drive less than 30 mph in LA traffic. I drive very conservatively and rarely slam my brakes, so having them wear out at 11K just didn;t make sense.
