UPDATE: I finally AutoXed w/ the new pads: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...46#post3232146

Long story short: they work amazingly well and gave me both great modulation (racing in the rain) and plenty of bite. A great match for the car.

Question--I have a 2008 250 IS AWD. Does it need to have the brake pads looked at? I do notice the front wheels have more brake dust than I've ever seen on any of my cars. The car has less than 1000 miles on it.

I am not 100% sure if they swapped out the brake pads for 2008, but I know for sure up to 2007, they were still using the pads that cause a lot of brake dust.

Having my changed tomorrow along with my rattle fix.

08s still have dusty pads- mine sure does.

Last I knew 08s weren't officially on the TSIB yet, but some dealers would still do it as a courtesy.

Love the TSIB. At first it seemed a little less effective, but nnow that the pads have seated properly, braking is just the same with much much less dust.

Just got my car back from the dealer today for the 10k service.

1. TSIB rattle fixed
2. TSIB brake pads fixed

I have to say I enjoy the new brake pads. Yes, right away you can feel that more pressure are required to come to a complete stop, but I feel the new pads are more gentle and subtle than the previous pads.

I wouldn't call it "a loss of performance" because it still performs very well, I have to agree with other people that have posted, its just "less grippy."

Overall, I was worried at first but once I took it on the road, my worries went away and I started to enjoy the new pads. (can't wait to wash my car once the rain stops!)

I got the new TSIB done two weeks ago, a week after I had to slam on the brakes to avoid a multiple car pile up, they worked perfectly. I would highly recommend them at this point, as they work and there is way less brake dust.

i got it done and am very pleased. The dust is greatly reduced, and the brakes are still strong. I do feel they have less of an initial grab, less 'touchy', but braking is still very good

mine were done at 24k, I had the car in for an oil change and some other stuff and mentioned that the brakes felt "mushy" and seemed to put out a lot of dust. I said it just to see what the service advisor would say, well when they called and said the car was ready he stated that the pads were replaced with the low dust pads and the rotors were turned under warranty.
While its nice that I got free brake pads and the wheels are a lot easier to clean, I really miss the more aggresive pads, initial bite sucks and it does feel like a lot more pedal pressure is needed to bring the car to a complete stop.

Give it a few miles to let the new pads and turned rotors "seat" and I think you may be pleasantly surprised. While the "dustless" pads do not have as much initial bite, their performance should improve with the miles....mine did.

Had the TSB done on my 07 IS250 last Monday. So far so good. First things first, no more squeeking and no dust. Its amazing...even a week later there is no coat of black powder. The braking feels just as good as with the previous pads, however the feel is much more linear and the initial bite is better (what I mean by that is the moment you press the petal down the brakes start to grab a bit as opposed to before where there was no bite then BAM a ton of bite. All in all I am very happy.
