The instructions for the Eibach Pro-Kit says to cut them, but I still didn't. I've done about 13K city miles since then, and haven't had any issues. I probably do hit the bump stops from time to time, but it isn't that big of a deal. I would rather have a slightly hard bump than damage the dampers.
If you cut them it will damage the dampers?? Then why would the manufacturer recommed cutting certain springs?? Ive always thought they do that due to spring rate and height.

It won't necessarily damage the dampers. The bump stops are there to increase the effective spring rate VERY quickly just before the suspension bottoms out. Cutting the bump stops causes that to happen a little later since the suspension has to be even more compressed to reach them. Basically, it is just a trade-off to give the dampers a little more compression travel at the expense of protection.
