Question Does Your LTuned Susp Get Vocal When Cold?

There's been a temp drop of about 15* the past couple days here, and the components, more so from the front, seem to want to snap, crackle, and pop, like maybe the bushings are cold.

I'm going to have the techs check and re-grease the mounting or traveling points next weekend when I have the TRD Sways installed (yea!).

Just curious if anyone else hears anything from their Susp when the temp begins to drop.

FWIW, mine's been installed for almost 3 months.

Dexter,

I haven't noticed a snap, crackle, pop sound but I've got the squeaks when it gets cold. When I last had my car in I reported the problem and they thought it was the lack of lube on the sways. They claimed to have lubed up (sounds like fun) the sways but sad to say that just a couple of days later the sound is back.

Yeah, I may over indulged a bit there on sounds.

More like some creak, like the spings are brittle or something. Hopefully, I can have some resolution in place next weekend.

I wonder if this gets back to the sway bar bushing material compostion problem. Toy/Lex has long had a problem there. My 93 SC started doing that in cold weather after about 3 years. Lubing the bushings once would get me thru a winter. 3 more years, and that winter, it recurred after 2 weeks so my dealer replaced them for free even tho I was past warranty.

At that time, the service tech told me that the bushing composition had been changed, but that's all I've got to go by. My wife's 99 RX has not started making noise yet, tho.

Nah Bit - that's cool - probably due to yours being newer, and / or different bushing material. You've had enough susp issues to last you through the next couple years

No $#!+. RealMarty drove my car today though and seemed to like it so we may have another owner swayed over soon (sorry, couldn't resist).

Hey, I'm leaning. I'm not sure I'm swayed yet.

I'll be shocked if you don't spring up, get swayed, strut down to the dealer and brace yourself for fun! If you don't, I'll be coiled-over!

Bit, If you will permit me the license:

Every time I visit this thread I need to brace myself for I am continually shocked and appalled! I find myself coiled-over in disgust with every addition. I hereby make a New Years resolution not to strut into this thread again until the spring.

But I could be swayed...

It is getting much too late...

OK, this may be overthinking this a little.

Since I mentioned this a couple of days ago, the Susp has quieted down.

Could it be that the components needed a couple of days to adjust to the temp drop?

It almost seems more quiet now than ever.

OR

The components (LTuned) just need a few months to settle /break-in instead of weeks?
