Default Suspension Noise

Hello guys.. I wanna share something with you guys that i've been experiencing for couple of months. I've beeen gettting loud clunking (metal hitting metal) noises from my front suspension for about 4 months now. At first it wasnt that bad and it only happens once in a while. For past 3 weeks the noise got very very loud and it was constantly. This discomfort noise drove me nuts, sounded like my car is falling apart. By the way this only happens when i'm going over uneven road and bumpy roads.

At first i thought something in my front suspension was loose. I had everything checked out and it was fine. 2nd the came to my mind was my Tein CS giving out, So i took my car to a mechanic and he checked and said my teins are dead. He said the center shaft of the coilover was bad. Of course i was sad, i didnt wanna spend $$$ to get them revalved or replace. For some reasons i had doubt on the mechanic. So today i took it to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion. He took one of my front coilover out to inspect for condition and if there was any leakeage. It check out fine and my coilovers are still in very good shape. So he did further inspection on my front suspension while having the wheels off and coilover off. upper and lower control arms are good, lower ball joints are good, CV boot was good, sways bars were good, and finally he inspected the sway bars housing. BINGO the sways bar housing bolts were looose (he could use his finger to move the bolt) and one of the bolt was misssing. He tightened both left and right sways bars housing and problem solved.

I'm suggesting everyone with trd or daizen sways please check your sways bars housing bolts if you ever hear discomfort loud noises from the front suspension. I'm glad i seeked for 2nd opinion, or else i would be spending another 1300 bucks for new coilovers.

Tommy

I'd be incredibly sad if my Tein CS needed to be overhauled. Glad you found the source of the problem.
