Default IS350 bbk upgrade

hey guys, i was wondering on whether or not to purchase the IS350bbk from sewell lexus.(i have an IS250 with tiny brakes) so my question is to all of you IS350 owners. are the brakes worth it to buy or should i wait and just buy another 4 POT aftermarket bbk? which would cost me close to another $1200 on top of the price sewell lexus is giving me. ($844)

What brand 4 pot kit are you considering? If you're considering going BBK, don't get the 350 kit - go all out and get an aftermarket kit! Then again, that's easy for me to say, since it's not my money...

performance. but if the 350 4POT brakes do the trick id much rather cough up 844 for the 350 brakes that pay well over 2 grand for an aftermarket one

i would go with a 4-pot stoptech but unfortunatly they only offer a 6-pot. which would meen i would also have to purchase the 4 pot rear. that is a lot of money. 5-6k. the only company i know that offers a 4-pot front are rotoras. and from what i hear they arent that good and arent worth the 2 grand to purchase

Rotora's aren't that bad, but my friend had 350 brakes installed on his IS and they have worked out perfectly for him.

A lot of the mentioned would have to do with the kind of lines, rotors, and brake pads you would use. But the stock IS350 brakes are more than sufficient for spirited driving and occasional track days.

ROFL i got all excited when i saw the title of this post, 'IS350 bbk upgrade', first thing i thought was, OMG BBK is making an intake manifold for the 2GR-FSE... but of course not... bbk in the JDM world means 'big brake kit'... lame...

I don't know of a reputable company making rotors for the IS. Stoptech doesn't plan on making their aerorotors and I don't think DBA has one either. There are some on ebay but I wouldn't use them.

I was in the same boat as you. was thinking about getting the caliper only and getting crossed drilled rotors to go with it. but decided to get the rotora 4 pot with the 14" cross and slotted rotors instead. got it for $1900 out the door

just wanted to chime in, the IS350 brakes are definitely good enough for track days, even running 4-5 session a day. near the end of the day they do get squishy, but then i am running the low friction pads i got from the TSB hehe. im sure with performance pads the 4 pot calipers and 2 pot in the back are good to go.
