Default Akebono Pro-ACT...yes but which ones?

I have been searching on the internet and I have seen a couple of variations of the Akebono brake pads. Which are the ones that people have had good experience with? (Low dust, low noise and great stopping power)

Akebono Pro-ACT ceramc pads
Akebono Pro-ACT Ultra Premium ceramc pads

I have even seen Akebono ACT (not Pro-ACT) on the net as well.

I'm confused...please help; check out this link.

Akebono has the regular and the Pro-Act.

overnightautoparts is like a search engine, not an actual company.

Just buy whichever one is cheaper.

I would buy at tirerack.com. It's about the same price, but you are sure to get the right stuff.

In the link you provide, both Pro-act are the same. The price difference is because they are two different supplies for the same brake pad. Think of overnightautoparts as a google search engine.

Akebono only has one "Pro-ACT" line.

Just ordered new Brembo X/S rotors for the fronts (Sportbrakes.com) and Akebono ProAct Ultra Premium Ceramic pads for the fronts as well; can't wait to throw them on!

Also, just to clarify things that I've read in many places on CL. It is correct that Brembo DOES NOT make X/S rotors...vendors such as Sportbrakes.com buys either Brembo blanks, Brembo slotted or Brembo Cross Drilled and adds the missing item. So in fact they ARE Brembo but customized Brembo's. I was a little weary of buying these since Sportbrakes and others are drilling these holes but their work is 100% guaranteed and the customization process of these Brembo's are extensive which leads me to believe that the end result is a quality product; I recommend them to anyone looking to stay @ OEM size.

Nice purchase you'll be happy. I have the Akebono Pro Act ceramics and they're great! No dust and extremely quiet.

Thanks man. You, and I think GSing were among many here that influenced my decision...thanks again. I'll throw them on when the rotors come in.

Just to give you heads up, x/s rotors will give you this weird buzzing noise when you brake. Kind of like that "Wheel of Fortune" wheel when it spins. It's normal b/c of the slots Also the slots it will eat up your pads much quicker. I've been though 3 sets of pads in the last year and now just going with the drilled rotors. Of course it doesn't stop as great as with the slot combo but it's much more quieter and saves my pad more life. Make sure you ask for the silver, gold or black anodized coating. It helps your rotors from rusting sooner and looks great too! Take before and after pictures. It's awesome man! Enjoy. =)

Thanks, I purchased these same Brembo rotors about 2 years ago and their great! Never warped or anything and weren't loud at all. The reason why I'm replacing is because the pads ATE THROUGH MY ROTORS! The pads were too abrasive for my rotor type...I was using Axxis Metal Masters; good pad but harsh on rotors. So my problem wasn't going through pads too quick...I was going through rotors.

Akebono has only one Pro-Act listed under their site. Again, you'll see two different names because the Overnightautoparts is a search engine.
