I have a problem with my rear calipers not bleeding on my 1999 GS300. I was able to bleed the fronts one's, but when I went to do the backs ones. Nothing came out.. Does anyone know of the issue or have a clue??
How come you did the front before the rear? Usually you're suppose to bleed the caliper furthest away from the master cylinder, and then the 2nd furthest, and so on forth.
When you bleed your brake, did you leave the car off? If so, turn the key to the ACC and try to bleed it again.
To bleed the rear brakes you have to have the car running. It has to do with the ABS pump if I remember correctly.
In fact I think the ignition just needs to be on the engine does not have to be running. Its been a while but I dont think the engine has to be running.
I had a problem like this in the past with my IS300 in which I later found out the the bleeder screw had buildup in it overtime which caused it to block the fluid from coming out. What I did was remove the entire bleed screw and spray some brake cleaner through the back side of the screw and then used my compress air gun to blow air thru it and it cleaned the screw out. Hope this helps..
Thanks for the replies I will try the suggestions, that you have giving me. And no it was not me doing the brakes a friends was. One that I atleast thought had a clue. I will get back with results soon.
I hope you did'nt damage your ABS unit. Factory says you are "supposed to" use the Lexus/Toyota scan tool to cycle the ABS on/off @ every bleed point. I was going to do mine last week until I looked it up on shop key @ school.
I was able to bleed the rear calipers, the replies of needing to turn the key to the ACC and try to bleed it again. Did the job it worked and now the brakes work fine.

I'm glad that was the solution, I have the same issue as well.
