Exclamation Wheel Setup

Hello everyone. Nice to be here. My first post comes in the form of a question. A friend of mine suggested that I should go with a staggered set of wheels for the car...I'm in the process of ordering, so here we go.....

The wheels are EXE Koncave:

Front: 19x8.5
Rear: 19x9.5

The guy at the store is recommending "General" tires with these specs:

Front: 235/35/19
Rear: 275/30/19

I asked him why the difference in height of the tire, and he gave me some explaination that had me like

Can someone please school me on this whole thing? I have had wheels in the past, and never had a difference in the tire size. Is this something to do with having a wider rear wheel?

The middle column is a percentage of the first column which is the width of the tire. so, it'll give you the same thickness for both tires at approx. 82.5.

but with more surface area on the rear tires. hence an increase in grip!

I have 235/35 front and 275/35 rear and I like it. If your offset makes the wheels too close to the fender you might need 275/30. This will make the tire not rub.
