Brake Dust TSB problems (Dealer won't replace)
#16
AL503 actually sold them to me last year for a nice price. They were used, but only had about 40 miles on them.
PS..Your Borla exhaust looks and sounds great man! Now go put your stock intake back in tell me what you think and we'll go hit MIR one of these weekends when you aren't working those long sales hrs at the dealership.

Hmm...maybe try a different dealer? I just got my 25k service done and they had no problems replacing the pads under the TSIB guidelines. The new pads are awesome! People no longer think I have gunmetal rims.

Sexi_Lexi I think I'll try a different dealership as a last possible option. The one I have been going to has been really great so far and I'd love to see them pull through with this.

1st, that really sucks, I hate when they don't do whats right the first time you request it. I'm sure you'll get the TSB done, just going to take some pushing.
2nd, cool someone else with a Borla exhaust! Btw the exhaust noise calms down after the break-in period, its sooo good now.

man I hate how the service dept tries to screw people and make big bucks off of people who don't know much about cars.
Evil snakes.
The service and parts department is where all the money comes from at dealerships.
they'll tell you that you need new pads when u don't.
They'll tell you that you need to resurface your rotors when you don't.
They'll tell you anything to replace stuff you don't ever have to so you can pay for new parts, labor and what not and make some moolah

My dad took his ES350 to Ontario Lexus trying to fix the transmission flare (if you guys don't know the problem, here's a gist of it: from a cold start, the ES350 will flare to about 4K rpm when shifting from 3rd gear to 4th gear. It's a somewhat common problem on the early ES350 models). When talking to one of the dealers about my brake pad change for the IS350, the dealer told my dad that the IS350 brake pads should never have GS brake pads on them.
Needless to say, my dad won't be returning to Ontario Lexus.
(and to note, the Ontario Lexus denies the transmission flare of the ES350 which to the ES community is complete bull as tons of people has had problems with their transmissions).

By any chance, could someone tell me where to find the TSB for the new brake pads. I also took my car in for excessive brake dust and they said that they have never heard of that TSB. Thanks in advance!!
