Soft brakes
Hi everyone,
This is my first thread, just got my Lexus Gs300 1998.(Awsome car)
The brake pedal feels a bit spongey / too soft, I know the car hasn't been driven for a long while, and sometimes it sqeakes when I apply brakes.
The car has only done 15534 miles/25000 km, will it need brake pad change or maybe a brake fluid change or bleeding.
Is there a procedure I can follow, that someone knows, to tell me how change the brake fluid, or to change the brake pads.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Been a great help.
But one more question, is Dot3 brake fluid is suitable for my GS300, if yes do you recommend any brand??
Thanks again

I think you have to use DOT 4. At least on my 2000 GS4 it is DOT 4. My car has significantly more miles than yours (86K) and my break pedal felt soft too until I replaced front and rear pads, front rotors, and break fluid. Now it feels great and the car stops very quickly. I hope this helps. Good luck!
