Default Brake Squeeling Finally Stopped!!!

I own an IS-250AWD which i first test drove and purchased on March 31 of this year. About a month after I got it, i noticed that my brake started squelling whenever i came to a stop which was very embarassing. After numberous visits and countless hours in the dealership waiting for my car to be tested only to hear that they couldn't fix the problem, my prayers were answered. The service manager ended up replacing all 4 of my pads and rotors and the noise has never returned and I could not be happier.

i get that squeal too. brought it into the dealership once but they said they couldn't replicate the problem... it comes n goes. i just live with it now. will have em check it at my 5000 mile service tho. did they replace your pads n rotors for free? the service guy told me i'd have to pay for em since they are wear n tear items. also they replaced your rotors or resurfaced em?

It they're squeeling on a brand new car, it has nothing to do with wear and tear and everything to do with a defective part.

First off, do not even waste your time with taking it ot the dealer and asking them to find the problem, you will most definately get the "we could not reproduce the problem" excuse. What I did was speak to the service manager and told him that I would be in the area and when I get the noise to duplicate, i would go for a ride with him so he coul hear it. They CHANGED all 4 pads and rotors. The manager told me that this may be a common problem. Even though Lexus corporate said that they had never heard of this before, they were back ordered on the rotors which made him think that this is a known issue. Only advice I can give you is do not give up and make sure you speak to someone who can actually do something and not just some crappy service advisor or something. Luckily for me, the service manager was on my side the whole time and even paid for my rental through a third party since Lexus would not give me one since I am under 21.

well I guess I spoke too soon. The noise came back this weekend only now it much louder and more of a whistling noise. This is beginning to really annoy me. It is to the point that I am embarassed to stop at a light.

i feel ya on being embarrased when coming to a stop hahah. maybe it has something to do with the composition of the brake pads? wonder if they have any other type of pads they can use.

on an unrelated matter... i was driving next to a yellow viper the other day and his brakes squealed when he came to a stop too hahah.
