Default Shaking when breaking

Hey Guys,
I just recently bought a 2003 GS3 and I notice whenever I brake, the car shakes. Do I need new brakes/rotors? Anything else that could be the problem? There is no shaking whatsoever when the car is in motion/accelerating, only when braking.

Sounds like warped or out of spec rotors. Could be any number of things but this is what I would have checked out first.

that happened to me once. The rotors were warped and i just had them resurfaced. I thought the car was seriously broken.

since it's an 03, are you still under warranty? i had my rotors turned for free under warranty at about 22k miles because they were pulsating. fixed prob 100%.

Sounds like a common rotor problem. If it is indeed warped rotors, you're going to have to replace the pads also. Just a heads-up

not necessarily. they didn't replace pads on mine when the rotors were resurfaced at 22k and they have been fine for the last 2yrs(12k miles) My front pads are down to about 25% now. can't see the backs, so I'm hoping they're better than the fronts.

We'll it'll depend on how violent the shaking is
