***NEED HELP*** Rear Bilstein shock installation
I was replacing my *rear* shocks today and ran into a snag. I am following the instructions by Jonathancl entitled "GS430 L-Tuned Suspension Install".
I've practically completed everything with no issues at all, but my snag is on that top nut that secures the shock inside the trunk. I didn't see where his instructions mentioned anything special about that, but I'm sure having trouble.
These darn Bilsteins do NOT have the flat sides on that shock rod that comes up through the floor. Thus, I try to tighten the nut on there and once it hits that certain resistance, it just spins the rod. It's not even full threated through the nut yet!
Both the old nut and the new Bilstein replacement nut have that poly-lock or plastic insert in the nut.
Also, these Bilsteins are SHORTER on that rod than stock, so, that combined without those flats to get a wrench on is killing me at the moment.
I need help! The large 'washer' under the nut in the trunk is loose, so the nut isn't even to that yet.

Whew! Well, I still need some help, but, I did find a big clue. The very tip of the rod is recessed and takes an ALLEN HEAD to keep it from spinning.
So, now I can turn the nut down, but I still don't know how far to go!! You can't put a socket/torque wrench on it because you need that darn allen head wrench on top to keep it from spinning.
Right now I have 2 threads of the rod sticking out above the nut.
Any idea's on how far I should tighten it down?!?!
