Can anyone with experience comment on ceramic brake pads? I know there's a lot of technical people out there that can share their thoughts/wisdom.

They are good for less noise and dust but not for racing... that is all I can say; Here is the link for some general overview from our sponsor:
http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/tech/....jsp?techid=88

Solution? I use Endless BBK... and I can get Brembo...

I bought the Satified Pro Ceramic for my G35 and I loved them. I plan on replacing the stock pads with these as soon as I get my car. I've also used the Hawk HPS for the G35. I liked the Satisfied pads better because they had hardly any dust.
I ordered the Satisfied pads from Tirerack but they don't have them for the IS350. Go here. They list them for the IS.

I used to use the Akebono pads on my GS...I went through about 4 different types of pads before stopping (pardon the pun) with the Akebonos. I used the green stuff pads and they had the same or worse dust as OEM and I wore through them in only 8k miles!! What a JOKE!! I forget the other two or threee brands I tried but I know the green stuff was the absolute worse and the Akebonos lasted a long time while producing litterally no noticeable brake dust. I'm talking 20" chomes wheels with no bath for a month and still looking good and I drive like a maniac.

I would not be concerned about buying new pads for a new car, the minimal cost is WAY worth the satisfaction of knowing your wheels will stay clean...it doesnt matter ifyou have aftermarket or stock rims, it's annoying as hell to find your rims dirty the same day you wash them.

Does anyone know if they make the Akebonos for the IS350?

Ceramic brake pads still put out dust, it's just white so it's not quite as noticable as that black dust from traditional pads.

I checked, they make Akebonos only for the rear. That sucks, I'd love to try it. I'm wondering if the fronts will be available any time soon.

Anyone tried EBC Redstuff? It's supposed to produce 50% less dust than OEM. Any other brand I should be checking?

WAX will make wheel cleaning alot easier, but this trick only last for 2 to 3 months.

only other problem with Ceramic pads, they are very hard for your stock rotors, you might want to consider about it.

if you don't need extra braking power, I will recoment using stock pads.

This works very well, and that is what I did on my own. I just hose them off, or wipe them clean. But then I wipe the bumper everyday due to the damn bugs.

I bet Akebono will have the fronts soon. Since I wasted so much time, effort, and money seaching for te right pads for my GS I am going to hold out a bit longer until they get the front pads and I will just replace those. The rears have not too much dust anyway.
