HaveBlue, doing this would also affect the required amount of brake applied before the start button lights green right?

If this is the case then an intended safety feature (foot on break before ignition starts) trumps another safety feature (sensitive break lights.)

Yikes... I might just have the dealer adjust it. but I just dont want to go in and hear "Its not a problem... Its designed like that blah blah blah blah"

Mr. Bebo T: About the foot on brake.... I dont see it as a safetly problem... When you do start the car you're really in P anyways right? and you can step on the brakes harder youself... some cars like mercedes automatics still dont require you to step on any brakes... just twist the key and release... I rather have the safety of the brake lights comming on when I touch the brakes more so then starting the car.

I just meant from the manufacturers point of view that it's 2 safety features they intended that are clashing with each other.

Personally if that is the case I would do the mod to the point where I could start the car without my foot on the break, sort of like old school manual tranny cars that could be modded so you could start the car without your foot on the clutch. I'd also have super sensitive break lights

Ah I see... so are you going to try to adjust the lights? I'm interested to see how easy it really is...

Others don't have to press the pedal as hard as you apparently so I don't see where the safety issue is with their cars. My Toyota starts without a foot on the pedal but you have to apply the brake to shift out of park. It has a conventional key though and doesn't require signaling for the button on whether you want to start the car.

My suggestion to you would be NOT to touch it on your car. It is too hazardous a mod for you. Be safe...
