Default Quick question regarding Tein CS coilovers

Hey how many of you guys are running your Tein CS coilovers without the dust boots that go over the actual strut rod??? Can this cause future problems??

Take a look at the photos I attached one set is shown with the boots and the other does not have them...Is this an aftermarket piece that needs to be purchased??

It's not necessary, but helpful keeping debris off the shock rod

Most aftermarket coilover setups dont even come with dustboots.

I removed one of mine yesterday because the boot will crimp up between the spring and the top shock plate - causing lots of creaking noises

Without the dust boots your coilovers may not last as long as with the boots.
Dust may get inside the shocks, causing funny noises and damaging the shock internals.

i posted asking this before but no one replied...

a local shop told me not to run without the boots. all it takes is for something to damage the shaft or get past the oil seal and it will ruin the coilover in no time flat.

on another car i used to have, i had cusco zero2-r's on it, and the dust boots had a wire clip that went around the outside of the base of the boot around the coilover body, which kept it from creeping up. i noticed that the tein boot has a lip on the base of the boot, so i'm assuming the same could be done.
