just installed the new caster bushings today. also did the steering bushings.
i used to have shaking at 55 with stock wheels, 40-45 and 60 mph with the 19s. have not driven on eway but up to 70 on smooth road NO MORE SHAKING!!!!! i am so happy. hated to hit 60 and go around a corner, shook really bad. cant wait to drive to work tomorrow.
chiseling the edge over and pressing out didnt work so well. so we cut the rubber out and saw all'ed the ring out. took 3 min. start to finish. the large adj wrench worked great to line everything up.

did mine today. I went with the caster bushings from carson, they require you to re-use the inner sleeve so when you remove the old bushing you have to cut away at all the old rubber. You also want to re-use the outer sleeve which is what hold the old rubber bushing in place. The way i did that was cut away with an air saw until there was no more rubber left. I took the sleeve and pressed it into the bushing then the bushing into the control arm. It doesnt take long if you have the tools. Its tough when you try doing this at home without a press and without a vise.

I got mine done yesterday. Big improvement in handling. Feels alot more solid.
Hopefully it'll hold up for awhile. I saw the other thread after I had these installed.
Hopefully no clunking

Interesting inputs, there is a lot of rattling when I hit bumps and a distinct squeak when I turn the wheel. I still have to get it on a lift to do a visual inspection. From your experience, what suspension components are would commonly need to be replaced at 121,000 miles stock?

I did my LBJ in 2011, including UBJ and all the control arms - now I hear similar clunking - is it safe to say that after 5 years it is time to change the ball joints yet again? All my arms were changed so those shouldn't give way, but are the LBJ an item that continually have to be replaced every few years?
It's a 98, so 18 year old vehicle, and I have no problem going through the LBJ replacement again, just want to hear others' experience on this please. Thanks

Depends on how much mileage you've put on your LBJ's rather than how long ago. I bought some cheap chinese LBJs off eBay in a three pack deal along with the caster bushings(made a big difference), and lower control arm bushings. Went to get a routine alignment a year later (apporx.10,000 miles) and Hibdon tire informed me that they were too worn to hold an alignment already. So don't cheap out on your LBJs.
