Default Lowering with Tein CS's

When i get my coils installed on thursday should the coils be equal height front to rear or lower in the front and higher in the rear.... I'm talking about the number of thread that shows when adjusting the height... Someone wrote me back in another thread that i replied to and said they had 5 threads showing in the front and eight threads showing in the back... What should i do?

If you read the instructions that come with them, they give a recommended setting. That's a good starting point.

The final set up is up to you. Most people find themslves adjusting the height several times before they settle on a final ride height.

like rmmgs4, it's all up to you. and in reality, even the left and right wont' be the same, coz' the car does not level the same left and right. it will take a lot of adjustment and testing to see

Thanks guys... your right it up to me..and yes I'll probably start at the recommended setting and go from there... It sounds like I'll be at the shop all day trying to decide what height looks good... Thanks again rominl and RMMGS4

I requested about a 1 1/2 " lower than stock setting for my CS coilovers when they were installed. Worked out to about 6 or 7 threads below the locking collar up front and about 9 or 10 on back- so they don't need to be the same, but it depends on your preference to some degree.
This gives me a 1 finger gap front and rear, although I have been toying with the idea of going about 1/4" lower...

Yea i think I have a 3 finger gap right now and i think a 1 finger gap would be good... Still not to low but low enough to tell that the car is lowered... Its really going to look good.... Tomorrow is the day of installation and i can't wait....I'll try to post pics in the Gallery by the weekend so u guys can see.. It's really gonna look like whole different car...

Thanks again

Tony

You have to play with the ride height several times after the initial setting. It will settle 0.25" 3 weeks after the installation. So keep this in mind when you set up the initial installation ride height.

What is the best way to adjust the height yourself after bringing it home? Jack up one wheel at a time? Where is the best location to put the jack?

If they were used. No, they will not settle for that 0.25".

I am a little confused with the definition of the finger gap...
Is that measured from the highest point of the tire straight out?

well the way i measure it, just see how much gap you have from the top of the tire to the fender, by placing fingers horizontally

Thats what I figured. So whats the recomended gap in the rear, so with 20's, full trunk, and 2 guys in back, there is no chance of rubbing?

I am at about 2 in the rear and 2.5 in the front.
