Default Rotor Removal

So, I was going to put on my new Brembo rotors today. I started on the left rear. Got the caliper off and started in on the rotor. This sucker is on there good. I cleaned up all of the rust/corrosion around the barrel and still nothing. The service manual shows that it is just held on but the wheel itself. Am I missing somthing here? Let me know.

You'll notice a couple of threaded holes in the rotor pretty close to where the lug nut studs poke through. I don't recall the size of the bolt you need but you simply wrench them in alternating from side to side forcing the rotor out.

The rotor will break loose. It's just seated tight from age and rust.

I hope this is clear enough and helps.

Good luck!

yah...get either 12mm or 14mm bolt or something like that....if forget the exact size....and screw that into one of the holes on the rotor hat....it should "pop" the rotor free from the hub.

Good luck.

Great info (about the two threaded holes). I had removed the calipers without a problem but was stumped how to get the old rotors off until I checked out this site. Found a couple of bolts in an old jar - screwed them into the holes in the rotor - and it popped off clean as a whistle. Thanks a lot!
