Default Just installed Daizen sways on my bone-stock GS430

Just installed Daizen sways on my bone-stock GS430 (running on 16s) and I love it. I set the rear bar to the softest setting (most understeer) and even then I can tell I need stickier rubber. I didn't notice any increase in NVH, but the car corners flat. It's now more fun to drive than our Odyssey "Type R" minivan. (If you've ever driven one, you know what I mean )

It took me approximately 5 hours to swap out the sways all by myself. It's definitely a very straightforward DYI project. It you're contemplating it, just make sure you spend a night searching the forums for all the hints (torque values, reversing the end links, loosening the lower shock bolts, etc.) Once you get under the car, it all falls into place.

I should note that the front bar's passenger side mounting holes were too close together. I spent about one hour (or longer) reaming out the holes with a drill to get a fit. The installation instructions that came with the bars were adequate, but not great. All the hints in the forums, however, were awesome. Thanks, y'all

Just saw your thread on the sways. Thanks for the input
Did you get the Daizen bushings also?
I'll safely assume that you have no suspension set-up yet when you say "bone-stock"
I have the bilstein shocks with stock springs and daizen bushings while still on the teeny 16s (no sways) and I can say that it's 7-8/10 better already for me

I want to jump on the TRD LCB-only $129!!!. I wonder how much that will also help with cornering?

Well, I read 3 pages of trd vs. daizen and the conclusion is trd blue is a lot stiffer.....a little cross-eyed now
Daizen and trd sportivo still maintains that stock feel while improving cornering.
.....and yes jellybean, did you get a chance to compare them with TRD sways yourself?

Didn't get a chance to compare the Daizens to anything. The Daizens did affect the ride a little bit. The car now feels like it's riding on slightly overinflated tires. You feel the road more through the suspension. It's subtle, but the ride is definitely just a little bit stiffer--some (and I) would call it "sportier". But cornering absolutely simply kicks a$$. Sorry that I can't be more accurate, but all the road feel stuff is just too subjective.

BTW, my priorities were to increase cornering ability while keeping as much of the stock ride as possible. I felt--based strictly on all the reading in these pages--that the Sportivos were too conservative, and the TRD blues too radical. Hope this helps.

As rom said, the Daizens came with new (polyurethane) bushings. And you assumed correctly: other than the Daizens, my suspension is absolutely stock, and riding on 16s.

the ls430 calipers don't fit on the gs at all. you need new brackets. the ls400 ones will, but you still need to mod coz' it hits one bolt.

and thanks for the comparison link GS3Tek, not sure if we need another comparison again
