There is no chrome L for the 98-00 steering wheel. If you look at the airbag design of the 98-00 and the 01+, they are different. Some have gotten, I believe, the L from an ES (not sure what model) engine bay and stuck it on the airbag. There is some risk of it flying at you if the airbag ever deployed but this has never been tested and proven. Up to you if you want to take the risk.

The more expensive method is to upgrade the steering wheel and airbag. The specs for this is pretty strict as you need just the right pieces from other lexus. You are looking at easily $500-$1000 depending on how good your contacts are, how lucky you are with timing at junk yards, and so on. If you paid list, it would be more than that.

This is the expensive route. How much and where for the airbag? Post, pm, or email me if you like.

yeah i read that the 2000 es300 engine bay lexus emblem will fit

the 01 rx300 air bag together with a 01+ style steering wheel is the truth right way to do it, but you probably dont' even wanna see the price tag

Hmmm the steering wheel I snagged off of ebay for like $150. Now the airbag was $450. Then to do the wood wheel conversion was about $550 and now im tired of the car. what a waste of money. Were all sick with modding car disease.

Hey GAMMALEX check this out and tell me what you think:

anyway, if you are able to find the stuff on ebay it's cool, under 700 and you should be good to go. but otherwise it's going to be a real pain at dealership price

Talking steering wheel emblem

I believe I was the first to post this... Someone asked and I posted about the ES trunk, and the pre 04 ES engine bay. Same emblem. It fits perfect too. just need to lightly sand the L on the airbag, and use some super strong 3m 2 sided tape. das it... Looks very sharp for only a couple of bucks. Much cheaper than buying the airbag and steering wheel... Easily obtainable from junk yards.... Unless you don't want to use the tape.

Found this. Eh Neo is this the engine bay or did people just crazy glue chrome on?
Cause this would be easier, cheap. But anybody know are there different sizes of chrome emblem various models - because the bigger ones look dumb like they don't fit well. It looks stock!
