IMHO the hack job on your suspension components is not worth the trouble of the mod. I believe the Proper LS4 bbk mod includes use spacers (Forget what they are called) im no Engineer, but i would not take the chance of reducing material and have it fail. Plus in addition How da F... are you gonna replace any of those pieces if they go bad, since you destroyed that hex nut and welded a spot.
Looks like your post should be re-named How not to install LS4 Brakes. Why not MK4 TT brakes? or a True BBK kit. There is many options, but yours should not be one of them

I have a question.. I installed my brakes the same time as i added spacers and wheels. anyone have vibration issues installing their brakes?
i have ichibi v2 spacers so i'm positive it can't be the spacers.. when i replaced to factory ISx50 rims they vibrated.. i put my sc stocks back on and they still vibrated. i have yet to try it without the spacer... the spacer fits exactly over the ls400 rotor with absolutely no problems.. as you can see in the picture the rotor sits perfectly on the hub. and so does the v2 spacer.. i get vibrations 40+mph. gets worse around 80+ i know the brakes are installed properly. what could it be??

So, the calliper touches the "thingy" at the bottom of the suspension. Hard to explain, but you can kind of see in the following picture outlined in red circle. The point is that the calliper side rests on that thing and after shaving the bolt on the tie rod it will appear that there is a clearance. I am sure after some time after driving, vibrations will bend the aluminum on the calliper, and it will eventually slide towards the cut tie-rod bolt, perhaps causing damage to the calliper. It took me 10 tries at least to fit it on each side. When the tie rod was clear the side of the calliper would touch, as soon as I would take off a bit of material of the side, the calliper would engage the tie-rod. etc. The shaving shown on one of the pics below as well. I also put a small weld on the opposite side of the rod nut to prevent it from turning. Even though that there is a pin, the hole that its in is too large, and in case if things got loose the jagged and sharp edge of the cut bolt might turn just a bit even with the pin inside, and cat into your calliper fluid line.
Cost:
Freshly rebuilt callipers with cores: $380
Rotors and Pads $120
Fitting kit $60
_________
$560
Again, thank you all for your input, and I hope this additional info will help the future adventurers.

On another hand, I had many issues with leaky callipers. It took me a while to get them properly done. I am also chewing through my rear brake pads extremely fast, I think its due to the fact that now the rear callipers receive more fluid pressure because of the change on the front.
Also if I had to do it again, I would definitely go with the MK4 TT brakes instead. It just so happened I heard someone on this forum had done the same thing and I got a good deal on this brakes. So I went ahead.
P.S. Is there any record of breakage? If anyone had done the same thing and had their wheels fall off plese post...

i ended up trading my LS400 swap to save for a real BBK but i did get EBC reds for the OEM calipers.i hate my ebc reds ATM, i did the break in JUST as they said and they were fine for the first few fews, now they squealing like crazy at low speeds. im gonna try regreasing them and see if that helps
