Default G2 Caliper paint process?

Can someone explain to me what the G2 caliper painting process is? I've read it in a recent post, but I can't search this forum because G2 is too short of a word. Would appreciate any help. I want to paint my calipers RED, but when I went to have the local brake shop do it they talked me out of it saying that it wouldn't last and that they'd get dirty and that it would be impossible to keep them clean, yada, yada, yada....

1) What is the G2 process that I've read about?
2) Is it true that its hard to keep the brake calipers clean once you paint them red?
3) What's the best way to have this done (barring buying the very expensive red calipers)?

G2 is a brand of caliper paint that is kind of like an epoxy (you mix it before brushing it on).

I searched for 'how paint caliper' and found some good info

just a heads-up to my CL brothers from back in my 4-wheeling days.....there's a killer product called POR-15 that comes with a degreaser. The paint itself can go directly over rust and seals/seizes it indefinitely. Google it!!! You'll love it.

There's a huge difference between G2 and Duplicolor. G2 is thick paint, more like nail polish. It couldn't be sprayed on, you paint brush it on in thin coats building up. The finish is smooth and glossy, and hides the underlying roughness of the caliper, unlike a regular spray paint.

I recommend G2, although pricey.
