To the OP. Briefly:

You're referring to the same bushings even though people call them different things sometimes. My car's steering wasn't accurate at higher speeds even after an alignment. I ordered replacement polyurethane bushings from TM Engineeering and had my mechanic install them and perform a new alignment.

The steering was now accurate and confident. I highly recommend doing this.

Lightbulb Vibration from tire run-out / out-of-round?

It sounds like a flat-spot on your tires. Balancing doesn't fix that. If you "parked-and-left-it" for 6 months, this is a real possibility. And/or, some tires are cheaper than others for a good reason.

Tire run-out: I've read Michellins are high quality and are "in round" around the tire and have equal-weight around the tire. A way to tell is the length of a tire maker's warranty, supposedly.

To diagnose flat spots: a brake run-out gauge can be used to measure tire run-out. It will tell you if you have flat spots (Hint: if you have china-cheapo tires then they have flat spots). Here's a link to a video:

Good luck!

Toyota balanced the entire driveline as an assembly. If you had the driveshaft out and didnt mark it and put it back in the same oreintation it came out... That can cause a vibration.
