bushings replacements where to start
i see a lot of guys change our the steering rack bushings. i'm thinking of going through my car and changing lca bushings and others.
which ones and from where do you guys think i should start with? Car has 130k on it so i'm guessing some are more important than others.
thanks,
sid

Engine/Tranny mounts should be done at the same time. Steering rack bushing, now there are so many options for this, you can go billet aluminum, OEM or polyurethane, just do the research. Prothane polyurethanes are sold as a set, meaning, if you buy front set, it will come with every single bushing for the lower and upper control arms, and if you buy rear set, it will come with every single bushing for the lower and upper control arms, strut rods and toe rods. Prothane also sell poly bushings for the sway bars. You can find a complete guide of how to do it yourself on my build thread.

Just go OEM with engine and tranny mounts. If you haven't changed that, check it, and I'm definitely sure it looks squished and compressed already by this time and more likely sagging your engine and tranny oil pans around the same height as the chassis which is obviously not a good thing.

There are plenty of DIY out there on replacing bushings. We might as well get them all in one thread. Here's the steering rack DIY,with some more, and I know KingPhillip has the CA bushing DIY on his thread.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...placement.html - Knuckle Bushing
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...d-or-auto.html - Tranny Mount
I guess we still need Diff Bushings, Engine Mounts, CA, Tie Rod, Stabalizer Bar, Sway Bar, and I'm not sure what else....

i had my car on the lift and took the wheels off and I can honestly say that many of my rubber bits and bushings are simply not there anymore, my front end feels loose and has play also.
I would like to go with aluminum bushings all around because of course they would be stronger and last longer,,,,,,,,,,is there any reason for me not to do this? does it ruin the feel of how the car drives somehow?
anyone here have aluminum bushings installed?
