Default Would this work???

A friend of mine (another GS400 owner) wants to do the Supra TT Big Brake Upgrade straight off a 98 Supra TT. I have already purchased my brakes, and he saw what it cost me, and was wondering if he ordered the factory parts for a 98 Supra TT brake kit, would they fit the same? He doesn't see spending the kind of money i did for the upgrade, but i don't want him to waste his money if this isn't going to work either. Any ideas if this is possible?

They should be the exactly the same except for the shim kit you need to make it fit on the GS.

But.... unless you got ripped off or bought them marked up (like the RMM rebadged ones), the prices you paid should be the same as what he can get them for from a Toyota dealer / parts counter.

My kit was used from a Supra TT owner, after a wreck, so i got it at a fairly good price, he's looking at around 400 for calipers and rotors, and another 150 for SS brake lines. Does that sound about right? I haven't put my kit on yet, and didn't know about having to have the shim kit fit the GS. What do i need exactly for that?

Sounds like a good price if they're new. Most of the kits our forum sponsors sell also include drilled or slotted rotors, upgraded pads and stainless steel lines too, so that also ups the ante a bit.

Check with Carson Toyota for the parts you'd need on the shim kit. Also, had to remove the dust shield to make it fit.
