I am over thinking this issue and need help from the Pros here. IS250 2008 RWD needs new front shocks. It's my son's daily driver. We usually order parts from RockAuto. The sheer volume of choices and styles has me a bit overwhelmed. I prefer to stay with KYBs or something on that order. Are the fronts gas only or do they have a built in coil? Links appreciated! Thanks.

I'm running the KYB's on my GS350, and Coilovers on the IS250.
I'm getting old for a stiffer suspension used in daily driving. You must remove the springs to get the struts off.
Are you doing the work yourself? Use a lot of precautions when working with springs.
No. I wouldn't try to do it. I just am looking for a decent set of fronts that will last for 3 years+. My mechanic will do the work. Any recommendations on the coil-overs?

The Coilovers don't come in a set. You do all four corners. It will not ride like stock if that's what your looking for.
I've only had Megan's, and BC's at default spring rates 10/8 combo. Out of those two I'd choose the BC's they're way beefier than the Megan's.
In all its up to you how you want the car to handle. Comfortable go OEM struts. If you want it to handle like it's on rails, then do coilovers.
