Back in May I road tripped across the country from East Coast and came across Gabe, who runs a Lexus / Toyota shop in the Phoenix / Gilbert area called The Auto Bar. Sharing my experience here for others who might be looking for a good mechanic.

Phoenix was about half way through my transcon roadtrip in my LS430 and it was the ideal time & place for an oil change. First I tried Lex Tech in Apache Junction but the person retired and referred his customers to Gabe. Initially took the car to Gabe for oil change and AC condenser cleaning, where I had a good chat with him, and saw he paid attention to the details, such as wiping clean the bumper, topping up fluids etc.

Then I figured, since I'm in Phoenix for a couple weeks and Gabe was quite good, might as well change my engine/trans mounts since Lexus/Toyota specialists are hard to come by on the East Coast. I asked Gabe to use cherry picker instead of jacking from engine pan, which he did and he took photos so I can upload to the LS430 engine mount thread. Very good prices at under $100/hour when I was there, and fast work at 3.5 hours for 3 mounts.

I was happy enough that I referred family to have their RX350 AC, and V8 4Runner water pump fixed by Gabe. The work was done quickly, at great price and resulted in very happy family members. Since Gabe was the one doing the work, the communication was fantastic.

Thus I want to give a shoutout to Gabe and his shop, since he started his shop not too long ago and recognition helps.
