Houston Texas - Looking for good Lexus Mechanic
Can anyone recommend a good Lexus mechanic in Houston?
I need some repairs for my 1992 SC300 coupe (this car is driven relatively little. I treat it like a collector car.).
I went to a well known local independent Lexus shop but the prices I was quoted seemed quite high for the following items:
1. Telescoping steering wheel doesn't work: $3,200
(The steering wheel tilt does work)
2. Install Cup Holder in dash (I am supplying the cup holder): $160
3. AM radio reception is poor: $200 to evaluate
(My guess is that this is an antenna issue.)
4. CD player doesn't work: $2,200
(The light is on in the trunk unit, but I get an error message when I try to play a CD.
The cassette tape player and the FM radio both work just fine.)
5. Memory seats did not seem to work: $409
(I subsequently have found that the memory seats do work. Since my SC300 is a 5-speed,
the emergency brake has to be set when doing the settings, but apparently the shop I
went to did not know this.)
My car has 82k miles and everything except the above items works just fine.
None of the above items really have to be done, most especially if the cost is anything like the above quotes.
I just feel like a good independent mechanic could probably fix most of these items without a lot of trouble or expense. If I were a little bit better mechanic and if I weren't 81 years old, I might even try to fix some of them myself.
Any suggestions/recommendations would be most appreciated.

I need a couple things done on my wifes 2008 IS250
- replace headlight housing(halogen)
- install HID kit
- replace fog light housing/bulbs
I have all the parts, just need the labor.
I can do it myself but i want to get it done properly to where everything lines up and the cutoff is clean. any recommendations?
