Default Hey AZ guys - I need your input

I'm thinking about selling my IS300 and buying a 2003-2005 350z... Any input? I'd appreciate it

Another one bites the dust!

Why do you want to sell the IS? And why a Z?

Go talk to BigC.

This is a Lexus forum. I suspect the responses will be a bit biased.

You don't think we can give unbiased opinions??

If I could fit into one, I might be able to give a better opinion. As I've only driven the convertible, and that was looking well above the windshield, I can say that it was very fun to drive. Very small footwell and very small seats, though. Since I have big feet and I've got wide shoulders, it makes many cars tough. If you fit in it, it fits your transportation needs, and like the way it drives/handles, I'd say knock it out and get one. I know that even in driving it like I had to, it was at least enjoyable. Salesman was a very nice little midget, and he said he was rather impressed I could make it slide around corners the way I did.

You'll be getting the 6-spd manual right? If so, it's a pretty fun car to drive...hopefully you can deal with the blindspots in the rearview mirror. I couldn't stand it on my test drive and ended up with a g35 coupe instead. No backseat is kinda of a drag sometimes too. If you decide to sell your rims let me know.

Why not a Hyundai Genesis Coupe? Just drove 3 of them at the Adrenaline Tour at PIR. Very nice!! Even the I4 automatic was impressive, although I think I would take the V6 manual for only $3-4K more. Also, a 1999 - 2002 BMW 540i w/ the sport package is a less expensive option.

Would hate to see you get a car that's expensive and breaks down all the time. The G35 (350z) will nickel and dime you all day long. My friends did, he sold his for an Acura TL Type S !!

And if you have to have a 2 door just get a 1998 - 1999 SC400!!

I bet the 350 will be down for repairs way more than your Lexus.Just modify your IS and see.

What are you basing that off of? So you're telling him don't get a 350z because they're unreliable, then you tell him to modify his Lexus to make it more unreliable.

You can modify a Lexus and still be reliable. It depends on parts used and the person or shop doing the work.I have been working on Toyota's and Lexus's for over 20 years,I have seen good set-ups and trashy cheap set-ups.My stage 3 sti was modified with suspension pieces at 2k miles. Then at 15k I put the bigger turbo and related items.I have sold the car and it now has 70k miles I still work on it for the new owner and the motor is internally good as far as compression and leakdown.I had a 200 horsepower corolla with a jdm only motor and that was a daily driver but not really comfortable.

the 350 Z will be great fun. I was a hardcore VQ35DE fan before I bought the Lexus. The Z is a great car. You will need to make sure that the alignment is good on the car when you get it if its an earlier 2003-04 350Z

Buy mine, everything is for sale @ the right price

I am kinda in the opposite mood, I wanna sell my Z to get a Lexus.....or something else (cough....e55 amg supercharged.....cough....370z.....IS350.....cough) hell I dunno I change my mind every day lol.

I just ordered more parts for it today. Going back to a dual exhaust so I can install my carbon fiber rear diffuser. I swear, one day I wanna keep modding it and the next I want to sell it. It never ends!!!

Its already done for the most part. Gangster wheel fitment was the hardest part and its done.

BTW, my Z has been reliable as hell since I've owned it. Not one single problem.
