Austin,tx: Roll Call
Hey guys I just moved here from Connecticut...got a Black on Black 98 GS400, wish I could attend the meet, but flying out of state on business this weekend. I hope you guys do this on the regular so I can catch up the next meet. Do you guys know of a reputable mechanic I can take my car to here in Austin?

No updates, not sure where people want to go. I think most people are okay with the Domain? However, not sure how easily it'll be to meet @ a garage there.
Why don't we do this. Since most people are south anyways, how about everyone meet up under the 360 bridge like last time and then we can all roll together to Domain and eat there?

I'll start throwing some lunch options (with online menus) out there.
Jasper's @ the domain (american): http://www.kentrathbun.com/pdf/JaspersAustinBrunch.pdf
prices: extremely expensive, assume all entrees are between $25 and $35
Gloria's @ the domain (mexican): http://www.gloriasrestaurants.com/te...Lunch_Menu.pdf
prices: reasonable. they just opened up. the nice thing about mexican food is that it's always "safe", i dont think i've ever really had bad mexican food per se.
I'm not too familiar with any of the other restaurant offerings at the domain, with the exception of some places like california pizza kitchen which i'm sure everyone has been to at least once, as it's a well known chain.
You know under ideal conditions I might have suggested the original salt lick in driftwood, texas. why? because it would've provided us a nice long drive towards a definitive goal (lunch), but of course this rain seems like it's going to be problematic, so I figure this is not the best option.
One more good option at the domain is the newly opened chain Maggiano's (italian). Here is their lunch menu: http://www.maggianos.com/qtvr/001025...nch%20Menu.pdf
prices: reasonable again, like Gloria's. they give a LOT of food so you will almost certainly have leftovers for the next day.
Anyways, start voting and/or suggesting more alternatives so we're not completely scratching our heads come tomorrow in terms of where we want to eat.
edit: one more thing, i'd like to leave you all with a very useful online resource:
http://www.foodhawk.com/austin/
It's a website that has collected menus for hundreds of austin restaurants (chains and non-chains alike). It even allows you to search for a particular food, sauce, what have you (see "search restaurant menus! enter your favorite food here in the top right hand region) and it will give you a listing of restaurants in austin that have that particular food. very useful resource, I use it all the time to get ideas for new restaurants.
