tint shop recommendation
PHX peeps....
i want to tint my 2000 es300, anybody know of a good tint shop in the phoenix area. i've already called metro tint and made an appointment for this saturday. but if anybody know of a better place, please let me know. the brand they use is solar guard, i know from doing the search here in this forum that is a good brand, along with 3m, llumar, and all that. price for install is $139.99 for the base solar guard. they said they have a better film that is made of charcoal and the price for that is $239. supposely this stuff is better on heat reduction.. anybody out there have this type of film installed in their cars. is this worth it......

I have a friend, Rick, who owns Airpark Tint up on Hayden just south of Frank Lloyd Wright.....they do great work and use great quality tint. Probably going to be in the same price range....maybe a little bit more but you get what you pay for. They do all the high line vehicles for the dealers up there. Don't want your tint turning blue in a couple of years. I chose to not get the metalized film cause it gave to much of a mirror effect when you see it in the sun. I wanted the windows to be black/smoke since the car is black. Good luck
alright! thanks for the quick reply.
so what kind of brand does your friend rick use and how much for the install.
and by any chance you could post a pick of your ride, how dark did you go. im thinking on just going 35% on side windows and 20% on rear. i'll keep it legal, don't want a 2 tone of shades on the sides though. also i did stop by at metro tint office just couple hours ago hoping to see cars that they have just tinted, but there wasn't any. they do have like a wall display of the different type of film that they use from the base solar guard film to the vision pro, elite, and so on. and starting from pro and above model are all charcoal with better heat reduction on the base film. i was kind of leaning towards the pro type, cuz it's 15% more heat reduction than the base one, but the price is at $179, i don't know if it's worth it.

I'm sure Rick uses most of those brands.....those seem like pretty good prices and I am sure it will be done right. I went with 5% all the way around so my sh#% is dark. Here is a link to the gallery of my ride
