Default Car is at JP Imports

Hey everybody, the car is at JPI for CV joints, Tranny pan removal and screen cleaning. Just wanted to update everyone. I trust you'll take care of Lexi, Jason. The Camry you loaned me is going to get a detail (vacuum, carpets cleaned, good coat of wax, and you cant say no!) compliments of me, as a way of saying thanks for letting me pimp it FOR FREE.

Jason is by far, the most professional mechanic i have met thus far. Very nice guy, and fair prices, i highly recommend him. He seems to have a love for the cars. That passion, coupled with his education, leads to quality and service unmatched by any other. Props to you man, props to you.

well, i got the car back from JPI, and all i can say is...WOW.

for a kickass deal i knocked out a bunch of things.

-Brake Flush and bleed (you cant tell me you didnt jason, the pedal is no longer spongy, you did something!)
-DriveAxle Replacement (CV joints on both ends)
-Tranny pan removal and filter replacement, magnet cleaning and fluid refill.

hell of a deal. thanks jason. those CV's were going to cost me an utter fortune done here local.

satisfied is HARDLY the word dude.

lets put it this way, that $1300 steering rack that was going to have to be replaced? according to jason, its only the Lower Ball Joint bushings and the outer tie rod bushings banging around. possibly the strut buishings up on the Strut tower... so that knocks 1G off the repair bill right there. i wont even trouble jason with that kind of repair, i can do that myself in my driveway with a weekend.

next time it goes in, it will be, TB, WP, Cam and crank seals, Spark Plugs and wires. footing a $900 bill there, and possibly the biggest repair that will be done to this car while i have it. im not overly hard on the trans, so that shouldnt...SHOULDNT...be an issue **KNOCKS ON WOOD**

then the oil pump seal.

then the power steering lines....

thats ONLY if i cant sell it between now and the time i leave...ths signs are in the window ,they read:

"1990 Lexus ES250, ~141,000 mi. Cold A/C, HOT heat, power everything, Nearly mint inside, all accesories work great.

$2250 OBO. call...817-485-XXXX"

i hate to take the attitude of "there is always a bigger fool", but...

TBH, i'll most likely just trade it in when i get back, but in th emean time, i would like to get it fixed as much as i can, i just cant stand the thought of someone driving around in a car that has been so neglected...i should be a crime to not do your regular maintenance...

EDIT: and 1qwklex, we need to meet up sometime...that would kickass, what part of TX are you in? if its dallas, ill blow half a quart of oil out of my car between here and there, but oil is cheap LOL.

yes jason, still leaking.

the tranny fluid issue is solved, i figured it out.

but oddly enough, in the 5 days it sat at my grandmothers house in indianapolis, it didnt leak maybe 5 drops of motor oil...whats with that? it leaks 1.5 quarts between ft worth and indianapolis, but when i get there it leaks nothing. that leak was probably excessive too because i cruised @ 115-120 down the I44 Turnpike outside Tulsa OK for probably a good half hour...felt great!.

it only leaked about a quart on the way back...im guessing the hotter it gets, the more it leaks...
