It is so annoying I can't read posted. I used to visit and read a lot. Now I don't do that as mutch bcouse of the ads. And I don't think it's only me.

It's the ads and it's really annoying.

Turning off JavaScript disables any redirects.

It's not uncommon for the ad networks to not even know they're distributing malicious ad content. In fact, these ads are known to infect PCs through what's called "drive-by downloads." You won't even know you're infected and people who do not update their computers or have crappy browsers with java and flash enabled are susceptible.

However this site is particularly bad.

Other forums seem immune like Audizine, whereas Scout's sports college team forums are equally as bad.

Thanks for the screenshots, tecman. Have you encountered this ad again in the time since you took those screenshots, and if so, do you happen to recall any of the banner ads you saw on the page before the pop-up appeared?

 

I haven't used the iPad since. Only PC and iPhone. Will keep you posted if it happens again.

 

Look even when i visit this site from a computer browser , the amount of adds and other stuff loading and processing in the browser is out of control.
i like this forum alot but the pop ups on the phone and ads in the rigjt bar of a computer browser are nearly overwhelming and motivation to not spend much time here. Sorry to be a cranky new guy but Im just sharing my experience.
