Default Forum More Difficult

With all the new pop up ads, this forum is very difficult.

I don't have any issues when accessing the forum via a PC, but, when using a mobile device, the pop-up ads are downright annoying. When they start to pop up, I am quickly inclined to go elsewhere on the internet to amuse myself.

My web browser is Firefox, and I have Ghostery installed and have no pop ups or ads.

We shouldn't have any pop up adds in the forum and will followup to see if some setting was changed. I would also strongly suggest you run an adware/spyware search on your PC as some of them can issue a lot of pop ups.

I do use Adblock on chrome for the surrounding ads to speed up browsing.

Is that true for mobile devices? As I said above, I have no issues with my PCs, but, with Android devices, pop-ups show up on a regular (and quite annoying) basis.

Should be, but will ask. I don't see them on iOS devices.

I regularly visit about a half dozen forums and a good number of other websites, and I only get the pop-ups on the Android devices and with this site. Also, they show up regardless of whether I'm accessing the mobile version of this site or the regular version on those Android devices.

This morning, I had a few minutes to kill, and I thought I'd amuse myself by reading a few threads here with my Android phone. With the first 6 threads on which I clicked, 5 times I got a pop-up ad. At that point, I was annoyed enough that I just gave up and went to another forum to read.

If it makes any difference, I use the Dolphin browser, which, for me, has been the fastest and least buggy of the several Android browsers that I've tried.

lesz,

Are you reading these logged in on your CL account or browsing without logging in? IB tells me that folks browsing who are NOT logged in get more advertisements.

Do the ads actually pop up or 'slide over' when touched? Can you take some screen shots and post?

Normally, if I'm visiting the forums on the Android phone, I won't be logged in because I would likely only be reading and wouldn't be inclined to post from the phone.

The ads pop up covering (most of) the page that I am trying to view. When they do start to appear, the same ad will keeping coming up over and over again for a while. For example, earlier this morning, the ad that repeatedly popped up was an ad for Showtime. Now, the ad that keeps popping up is the one that I'm attaching here with a screen shot.

OK so first stop is for you to log in on your phone when you are browsing and see if the issue stops. I'm told that should solve your issue.

Appreciate the screen shot - if you're browsing while logged in and still get them, please take more.
